Location: Huntsville, AL (4 Days in Office, 1 Remote)

POSITION PURPOSE:  Perform Global production planning, scheduling, and logistics for Lakeland division(s) to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize capacity while managing inventory levels and product flow. Lead analyst for production planning department. Responsible for gathering data in various formats that impacts production planning and scheduling including current stock levels, overstock, backorders, late orders, safety stock levels, trends in sales, and manual allocation of stock to orders. Supporting role in international logistics.  

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:       

  1. Utilize ERP (Sage X3) to plan, generate, allocate, and properly control production scheduling within capacity constraints as well as tracking finished goods availability, and requirements in keeping with customer demands.  

  1. Utilize ERP (Sage X3) to review, track, and manage product inventory levels that support production schedules including safety stock.   

  1. Collaborate with manufacturing within the corporation by taking action to promptly resolve production planning issues identified as constraints. 

  1. Understand methodology to develop parameters (safety stock, EOQ, minimum order quantities, and technical lots).   

  1. Coordinate and report interdepartmental activity on open orders status and advise Customer Service Representatives timely as updates are made. 

  1. Utilize ERP (Sage X3) to prepare work orders and finished goods purchase requests based upon customer demands as well as inventory requirements.  Monitor trends in sales and allocation of orders.  Additional methodologies (Excel, email, etc.) may be utilized as necessary. 

  1. Serve as a liaison for other departments and management as needed. 

  1. Participate in continuous improvements including training on new ERP/MRP processes as opportunities develop. 

  1. Perform Logistics duties as required.  

  1. Work closely with Accounting, Customer Service, Distribution, and Manufacturing to ensure needs are met 

  1. Communicate directly with customers regarding direct container shipments as needed 

  1. Perform various administrative functions as needed 

  1. Successfully work with and communicate with other employees and our outside customers and vendors 

  1. Support and uphold the three pillars: Respect, Communication, and Accountability

Budget None to $20,000   

Revenue:  None to $20,000

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

Requirements:

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:   

Education:     ​Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university​ 

             

Experience:   Or minimum 5 years related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment with multiple production processes, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:   

Education:     ​Master's degree from an accredited college or university​ 

Experience:    APICS CPIM and/or CSCP 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:   

This position will directly report jointly to both Director of Logistics and Global Planning Manager 

WORKING CONDITIONS / EQUIPMENT:   

Must be able to sit for long periods of time at desk and/or computer;  Ability to work on call; Ability to sit for long periods of time at desk and/or computer; Ability to go into warehouse and manufacturing areas as needed; Climate controlled and non-climate controlled environment; Ability to work long hours if needed;  Ability to operate standard office equipment; Ability to travel as necessary both domestically and internationally.
